Mrs. Gerrit Voogd Laid to Rest on Sunday Afternoon

Mrs. Gerrit Voogd died last Thursday morning at the Hospital at Cherokee, where she had been taken a couple of weeks previous, for treatment. The cause of her death was pneumonia. Mrs. Voogd was sick only a few days, and the end came as a great shock to the husband and children.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the Fred Helbing home at 2 o’clock, and from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lincoln township at 2:30. Rev. Goeringer was in charge of the services. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near the church. Many relatives and friends attended the funeral and the floral emblems were most beautiful. The entire community sympathizes with Mr. Voogd and children in their great loss.
