Funeral Services For Mr. John B. Mayer To Be Held In Hull Thursday Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 1:30 p.m., at the Kraai Funeral Home in Hull for Mr. John B. Mayer. The Rev. Harold James will officiate. Mr. Mayer passed away Monday, July 14. Mr. John B, Mayer was born March 17, 1873 at Newburg, Wisconsin, the eldest child of Joseph and Mary Mayer. He attended school in Newberg sad at the age of 17 went to work in Milwaukee as a clerk in the board of trade. On October 11, 1892 Mr. Mayer was transferred to Hull, Iowa to work in the Iowa State Bank. He spent 69 years working in this bank and last year was named the Dean of Iowa Bankers. He retired from active duty at the bank; on September 15, 1961, but was still on the board of directors. Mr. Mayer was married to Eva A, Walters on March 28, 1894 and to this union one son, Reimann D., was born. He served on many boards in the town but his chief interest was with the town band which he directed for over sixty years. Mrs. Mayer passed away on November 14, I960 and he moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa to make his home with his son and wife in 1961. He is survived by his son Reimann D. in Spirit Lak«, four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and one brother, Edward at Shawne, Wise. Grandchildren are Max R, Mayer of Sioux City, Iowa, Shirley Moerman of Sibley, Iowa. Norma Barnhof? of Ft Colling Colorado, and Doris De Boer of Little Rock.
