Mrs. Jim Smit died early last Saturday morning at her home east of Hospers, death being due to blood poisoning, following birth child. Funeral services were held Monday at the Christian Reformed church, and the burial occurred at the Presbyterian cemetery east of town. Mrs. Smit was the only daughter of K. Pott and wife, and was born in the province of Groningen, Netherlands in 1883. She came to American at the age of 18, and two years later was married to the husband who now survives her.
