Born: April 22, 1879
Died: August 18, 1920

Anna Catharina Borchers was born on the 22nd day of April 1879 in Hanover, Germany.

She came to the United States in 1893 and for seven years she stayed in New York. In 1900 she came to Hull and made her home with her stepmother, Mrs. H. Karstens.

When twenty-four years old, on the 13th day of April 1904 she was married to Mr. Herman D. Schuett. Their lives were blessed with four children, two of these dying in infancy.

Two years ago the health of Mrs. Schuett began to fail. On the 14th of July, 1918, she had to undergo an operation . After this she improved to such an extent as to be able to do her work. But last winter her condition grew worse again and on the 27th of April she had another operation. On the 18th of May she was able to leave the hospital and return to her home. But the progress of her recovery was not the desired one. Although there were days and even weeks of better feeling which gave the sufferer and her husband, even hope, yet gradually her strength left her. On the evening of the 17th day of August, Mrs. Schuett must have a great relief for she took lively interest in the conservation of her husband and children. But during the night she grew worse, in the early morning she lost consciousness and at 11 o’clock on the 18th day of August she was delivered from her long suffering by death. Mrs. Schuett attained an age of 41 years, 3 months, and 26 days.

Services were held Saturday afternoon at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and interment was made in St. Paul’s Community Cemetery.
