Died: September 1, 1915Our items had just left when the news spread that old gentleman Mr. Pieter Rons had died. He was a resident of our town for a number of years.
He was a devout church member and lived in a quiet way. He was respected in the community.
He was eighty years and a few months of age, is survived by his widow, Jantje (Bakker) and two sons and one daughter - all married.
He was buried last Saturday afternoon from the First Reformed Church, where Reverend Lubbers spoke words of comfort.
(Pieter's first marriage (1859) was with Warmoltje Langejans. She was born Rolde, Drenthe, the Netherlands August 6, 1834. She died Rolde, Drenthe, the Netherlands April 24, 1874.)
