Tuesday morning, Oct. 3, at 1:20 pm the widow Jessie Kroese has died , at the old age of 82 years and 22 days. Born on 11 Sept., 1840, to Oosterbierum, Fr., Ned., she married there to Mr.Kroese about 1858. From this marriage were sixteen, children born, of which nine are still alive; Five children already died ln their youth. The family came to America in 1888, and settled in this area. For a long time, the deceased had to rejoice in the company of her husband, who, however, was in 1915. A few years ahead, they still celebrated the 55 years of marriage. The surviving children are; Peter, of Sheldon, Eise, of Sanborn, Mrs. Jelle Stapert of here, Mrs. Donkersloot Sanborn; John, Hans, Sheldon, Jelle, Hull; Mrs. Boer, Sanborn; Mrs. Schelhaas, Edgerton. Also the deceased leaves 74 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren after. During the last years her life, Mrs. Kroese has lived with her grandson John, who has always cared for his grandmother. The last days of her life she was often could hardly sleep or eat anymore, so that she had special care necessary, was provided by the other children and the neighbors. In Her healthy days, Mrs. Kroese acquired the respect of every one who knew her. She was a member of the First Chr. Ref. church from where she will be buried, on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, after first a short service is held at half past two. The children from elsewhere, some of which also came to the dying of their mother were already here.
