John Harvey Roetman, 73, of Hospers, died July 9 at a hospital in Sioux Center. Services were at 1:30 p.m. July 12 in First Reformed Church at Hospers. The Reverend Henry J. Vermeer officiated. Burial was in the cemetery at Hospers, with, the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sioux Center in charge.

Mr. Roetman was born February 3, 1903 at Rock Valley. He married Caroline Hoffs December 15, 1926 at Hospers. The couple farmed, and after retirement moved into town. Mrs. Roetman died April 3, 1976.

Survivors include two sons, Leland of Rock Rapids, and Robert of Hospers; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Marge Kreykes and Mrs, Edith Kraai, both of Orange City, and Mrs, George (Kate) Kalpeck, of Salt Lake City, Utah; and two brothers, Ben of Orange City and Frank of Hospers.
