Jeanette Van Kley was born November 7, 1873 at South Holland, Illinois, and later moved with her parents to Zeeland, Michigan.

In 1897 she was married to Harry Mokma, who died in 1906. To this union were born three children.

May 27, 1909, she married Zwier Roetman, and they were the parents of four children.

They lived at Ustick, Illinois 3 years, at Holland, Nebraska 10 years, at Leighton, Iowa 3 1/2 years, at Newkirk 20 years, and at Orange City 2 years.

Mrs Roetman was afflicted by a stroke in 1928 which left her an invalid for the rest of her life. During the last 2 1/2 years she was ill with increased infirmities, and passed away in the afternoon of October 20, 1947, at the age of 73 years.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 at the home and at 1:30 p.m. in the First Reformed Church. Reverend F.B. Mansen will officiate.
