Miss Meagan Bonetroo, age 28, of Sheldon, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center.

There will be a funeral service on Monday, October 22, at 1:30 pm, at the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Kevin Yurk will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull, with the family present at their residence in Boyden, 908 Morningside Street.

Meagan Marie was born on January 26, 1990, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of Lyle and Sindy (Mulder) Bonestroo. She weighed one pound, three and a half ounces, and was twelve inches long.

She was raised in Hull, where she attended the Boyden Hull Community Schools through the ninth grade and then transferred to and graduated from the Rock Valley Community High School. While in school, she enjoyed playing softball during the summer. In September of 2009, she moved to Village Northwest Unlimited, where she lived in House 358, the Free Wheelers.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church, where she helped her mother with the children’s sermons and attended youth group. She enjoyed competing in bowling and track and field events in the Special Olympics.

Survivors include her parents and two brothers, Brady and Dylan Bonestroo, all of Boyden; a grandfather, Arlyn Mulder, of Sioux Center; six aunts and uncles, and their spouses, Bruce and Ingrid Mulder, Darlo and Laura Mulder, Lois Oostenink, Dennis and Sue Bonestroo, Dwayne and Rhonda Bonestroo, and Lora Berg; many cousins; her boyfriend, Eric Graves; and the staff and residents of House 358.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alvin and Agnes Bonestroo and Viola Mulder; and an uncle, Ken Oostenink.
