DEATH OF MRS. J. LEVERING

Mrs. J. Levering passed away in her home in Rock Valley Tuesday morning at 7:00 o'clock, following a lingering illness of several months.

Mrs. Levering was born in the Netherlands on February 23, 1867, and had attained the age of sixty-four years, one month and seven days. When she was sixteen years old, she came with her parents to this country. They located at Hospers, Sioux County, where she made her home for several years. She was united in marriage with J. Levering July 28, 1890. Mr. and Mrs. Levering resided at Middleburg for a few years. For the past thirteen years they made their home in Rock Valley.

Mrs. Levering leaves her husband and four children, John, of Steen, Minn.; Lambert, of Sheldon; Edward, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Mrs. John Berants, of Ireton, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, 1:00 o'clock at the home and 1:30 in the First Reformed church of Rock Valley.

An added note on the page says she arrived in New York on 30 Oct 1992, sailing from Amsterdam, Netherlands, on the ship Surrey.

Her death certificate has her as Mrs. Julius Levering (no forename) and adds that the principal cause of death was coma, and the contributory cause, diabetes mellitus.
