Funeral services for Thomas A. Rice, 81, of Rock Valley, were held, Wednesday, December 17, 1:30 P.M., at our Savior Lutheran Church with the Reverend Eugene Soland officiating. Organist, Mark Liabne furnished the music while the congregation sang three hymns.

Pallbearers were Robert Kaufman, Dr. R.W. Simonsen, Walter A. Moore, Kenneth Plueger, Bernard Gayer and Charles Wynia. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Rice died Monday, December 15 at Valley Manor Nursing Home following a long illness.

Thomas A. Rice was born October 25, 1888, at Jewell. He married Margaret Hemmingson on January 6, 1922 at Hudson, South Dakota. They farmed in the Rock Valley area until retirement sixteen years ago. They made their home at Valley Manor since September 30.

Survivors are his widow; a brother, Arthur of Northfield, Minnesota; four sisters, Mrs. Walfred Peterson of Canton, South Dakota, Mrs. John Vipand of Hudson, South Dakota, Mrs. Ernest M. Johnson and Mrs. George Anderberg of Alcester, South Dakota.
