Gerrit J. Rens, 82, of Sioux Center, died Tuesday in a Sioux City Hospital.

Services, will be held at 10:30 a.m. (today) Friday in the Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center. The Reverend Tom Vanden Heuvel will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery under direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mr. Rens was born November 28, 1897, at Orange City. He married Winnie Kleinwolterink November 28, 1918 at Sioux Center. She died September 21, 1953. He married Dora Stegenga December 22, 1956 at Hollandale, Minnesota. She died July 7, 1970.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Tony (Hermina) Heynen of Sioux Center and Mrs. Fred (Johanna) Herweyer of Orange City; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Wendell (Tena) De Boer of Hollandale; five stepsons, Albert, Elmer, Ralph and John Stegenga, all of Hollandale and Herman of Alaska; two brothers, Bert of Sheldon and Richard Sr. of Sioux Center; three sisters, Mrs. Marinus (Jennie) Vande Griend and Mrs. Dick (Hermina) Bleyenberg, both of Sioux Center, and Mrs. John H. (Jeanette) Van Middendorp of Bertha, Minnesota; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; and 8 step-great-grandchildren.
