Robert Remmerde, Sr., Dies; Funeral Rites Held June 14 Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 14, for Robert Remmerde, Sr., 90, who passed away at the Sioux Center community hospital Monday, June 12, after been in failing health the last few years.

Services were held at 1 p.m. from the Little Chapel and at 1:30 p.m. from the Carmel Reformed church, with Reverend G. Heemstra officiating. Burial was in the Carmel Cemetery, under direction of the Co-operative Funeral Service.

Mr. Remmerde, the son of John and Maria (Van Beinum) Remmerde, was born in The Netherlands June 20-1870, and came to America in May of 1888 at the age of 17 years with his parents, brothers and sisters. They settled at Maurice for one year and moved to Carmel where he lived the remainder of his life.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Remmerde; three brothers, Hubert, Will and John Remmerde; and four sisters, Mrs. Henry Vande Vooren, Mrs. Evert Hulshof, Mrs. Lambert Bozeboom and Mrs. A. Peelen, preceded him in death. Only survivors are his nephews and nieces.
