Diana Marie Aalbers, 84, of Orange City died Tuesday, October 15, in the Long-Term Care Facility at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

A memorial service was a t 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 17, at First Reformed Church in Orange City with the Reverend Steven Vander Molen officiating. Burial was at Nassau Township Cemetery, near Alton.

Miss Aalbers was born January 1, 1912 in Orange City, the daughter of Nick and Johanna (Buurman) Aalbers. As a child, she moved with her family to a farm near Alton. They later moved into Alton. After the death of her parents, she moved to Orange City. In 1993 she became a resident of Pleasant Acres Care Center at Hull and in 1994 she transferred to the hospital.

She was a member of First Reformed Church in Orange City. She served as a housekeeper to many people, especially the elderly.

Survivors include four nephews, Nicholas and his wife Sandra of Des Moines, Michael and his wife Cena of Alton, David and his wife Ronda of Alton and Richard and his wife Rachel of Mount Vernon; a sister-in-law, Ruth Aalbers of Latimer, and 11 great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Egbert John "Bud" Aalbers and his wife Marcia, and Marion "Max" Aalbers.
