Een treurig ongeluk had plaats ten huize van A. Overweg. Terwijl zijn 17 jarige zoon, Marinus, Woensdag avond een paard zon optuigen om nog gauw even wat aardappels van het land te halen, kreeg hij eensklaps van het dier, dat anders nooit sloeg, een klap tegen zijn buik. De slag was zoo ernstig aangekomen, dat hij reeds twee dagen later aan de gevolgen overleed.

Translated:
A sad accident took place at the House of A Overweg. While his 17-year-old son, Marinus, on Wednesday-evening, rigged a horse sun to get some potatoes from the country, he got suddenly of the animal, which otherwise never struck, a blow against his belly. The had to battle seriously from that injury, but he died already two days later from the consequences.
