John P. Reeff, 89, of Granville died Monday noon, November 27 at the Le Mars Hospital where he had been a patient since Saturday. He had continued in good health until two weeks ago. Mrs. Josephine Reeff passed away on March of this year.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 A.M. from St. Joseph Church in Granville with interment in the parish cemetery, and wake Wednesday evening in the chapel.

Mr. Reeff was born March 2, 1872 at Mercher, Luxemburg and came to the United States in 1920, locating at Cheyene, Wyoming. In 1922 he moved to Earling, Iowa, where he practiced his trade as a tailor, moving to Alton in 1929 and retiring to Granville with Josephine in 1938.

John married Josephine M. Schroeder in 1898 in Luxembourg.

John, Josephine and their children came to the US in 1922 from Luexmbourg. They arrived in New York City, New York on July 10, 1922 on the ship S.S. Kroonland departing from Antwerp, Belgium.

Surviving are his eight children, who are Mike of Seattle, Washington; Tony of Granville; Sister M. Acuta, Randolph, Nebraska; John of Alton; Nick P., St. Louis; Sister Vincetta, Bow Valley, Nebraska; Josephine, Mrs. Eicke Hedebrink, Worthington, Minnesota; and M/Sgt. Nicky, Glendale, Arizona; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
