About n half hour after __?. De Jong fell asleep and died Mr. Hendrik Niemeyer Wednesday evening. In the old age of 78 years, 2 months and 2 days, born den 3 Nov 1842, in Heerde, Gelderland, the Netherlands, 27 Oct 1874, the deceased married Aaltje Fransen, and in 1887 the couple came to America, immediately settling in the vicinity of Orange City. To this couple 8 children were born, of which 6 are still alive, who with the widow mourn the passing of their father. These are Gerrit and Hendrik, here: Gerrit John at Aberdeen, Idaho, Elizabeth A. (Mrs. Wm. Vander Burg), Hermina, (Mrs. Robert Macy), and Dorothy (Mrs. John W. Hofmeyer), all living here, and 18 grandchildren.

Mr. Niemeyer has been to asthma many years ago, making him often impossible to go to church. He was generally considered high esteem and was always helpful to those who were needy. The deceased was a member of the Chr. Ger municipality, and was buried from the church of this municipality, under the direction of Dr. R. L. Haan. Carriers were, the three sons and three sons by marriage The deceased during his lifetime had acquired many friends who mourn his passing with the family, convinced, however, that he entered the eternal rest.
