Note: Alton Democrat of June 14th 1924 state the a family of Edgerton MN attended the funeral of the late William Mulder last Saturday.

Sudden Death of Wm. Mulder.
Heart trouble cause of his passing late Thursday evening June 5th to hear of the death of Wm. Mulder Sr. a respected resident of Alton for many years. Mr. Mulder died suddenly from heart trouble, while at work painting the house across the street from his own home. He had been troubled with those attacks for about three weeks and had discontinued heavy work for that reason, but had been feeling much better Thursday. He was discovered lying unconscious near the ladder from which he had not doubt descended when the attack came on and attention when was attracted to him by his dog who sensed that something was wrong. His life flickered out within a few minutes after he was found, shortly before six o’clock Thursday.

Wm. Mulder was born in the Netherlands on oct 24th 1862, and would have been 62/69 years old next October. As a young man he came to the USA settling near Hospers where he was married to Miss Janna Veen. The young couple framed between Hospers and Alton for a short time, later moving to Alton, where their nine children were born. Besides Mrs. Mulder eight children are living, Mrs. S. Kuyper, Alton; Mrs. T. J. Watson of DesMoines, and Coba Rens, John, Dick, Ray and Bernard all at home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 at the home and later at the cemetery and will be in charge of Mrs. Rogers of Sioux City.
Mr. Mulder was a kindly man a devoted father and husband, loyal to friends, a good workman and respected citizen. His family have the deepest sympathy of their many friends and of the whole community..

Many Friends in Last Tribute
Many Friends, long time neighbors and relatives came to pay last tribute at the bier of the late William Mulder, whose funeral was held with short services at the home, conducted by Mr. Rogers of Sioux City in the simple manner of the Bible Study faith, and at the Presbyterian church conducted by Rev. George Bray. Mr. Mulders’ neighbor. Interment was made at Nassau cemetery many cars making the trip in spite of the muddy roads and unsettled weather.
Beside the children who survive mentioned last week are the following sister and brother who are living: Mrs. Fred Duimstra of Colton SD, Mrs. C. Kool, R. Mulder, Art and Eibert Mulder of Alton, Mrs. Duimstra was unable to come for the funeral. Those who came from away were listed.
