Margretta "Betty" Mouw died Wednesday,! July 15, 2015, at Prairie View Home, Sanborn, Iowa. Services were Monday, July 20, at First Reformed Church, Boyden, with interment in Sheridan Township Cemetery, Boyden.

Margretta "Betty" Kleyne was born Sept. 27, 1921, near Sheldon, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard Jr. and Jennie (Salie) Kleyne. She attended a country school near Boyden and graduated from Boyden High School in 1939. She attended Northwestern College one year. On Dec. 20,1940, she married Maurice Joe Mouw on her parents farm. The couple farmed near Boyden until they moved into Boyden in 1968. Betty worked for United States Post offices in Sheldon and Boyden for many years. Her husband died Sept. 30, 2006. She remained in her home until moving to Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon in 2008.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Sandra) Mouw and Daryl (Linda) Mouw, all of Sheldon; four grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bernice Mouw of Sheldon; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Mina (Earl) Fouts and a brother-in-law, Tom Mouw
