In the 1885 census of Sheridan Tsp. there was a Jennet Morris age 76 born Scotland, possibly a son John 44 born 8 Nov 1840 Hamilton, Scotland, John’s wife Annie Brash 44 born Canada.

In 1880 census of Sheridan tsp Jeanette was 74 born in Scotland mother of John. John 39 born Scotland Annie 40, children Annie 5 mo. Daughter, and John 9 nephew.

Searching further led to a possible birth of John Morris 5 Nov 1840 to John Morris and Jean Wilson in Dunfermline Fife Scotland.

Found family in 1860 census in Allegany Maryland John 47 Scotland Jeanette 49 Scotland son John 1840 Scotland, William 1843 Scotland, and Jeanette 12 1848 Scotland

In 1870 the family less father John were in Boone County IA. Son William and wife Ellen lived in Boone IA as well as mother Jeanette and son John.

Info in ancestry.com indicates William’s father was John Morris 1813 and Janet 1822, William born 1842 and died 1910.

Found a birth for dau Jane (Janet) Morris 18 Jan 1848 in Hamilton Scotland born to John Morris and Janet Tinsel.

Determination is that Janette, Jeanette, Jean or Jane Mrs. John Morris born abt 1811 Scotland died 1890 at Matlock IA, maiden name may have been Wilson of Tinsel.
