H. A. Hoffs passed' away at the Holland Home in Sheldon, after a lingering illness on Sunday evening, July 10. He was born in April 1866 at Cedar Grove, Wis., after coming to Iowa.

He was married in 1890 to Carolyn Hofand of Orange City who preceded him in death in 1930.

He leaves to survive four sons, Rev. Harry Hoffs, of Holland, Mich. Dr. Marinus Hoffs, of Lake Odessa, Mich. Joe of Hospers, and John of Sheldon and five daughters, Grace Mrs. C. Schaafsma of Hospers, Dena Mrs. J. H. Vande Steeg of Storm Lake, Allie Mrs. F. Klein of Lake Odessa MI, Carolyn Mrs. John Roetman, and Wilhelmina Mrs. Art Wierks, both of Hospers, and one sister, Mrs. Peter Muyskens of Albert Lea, MN. There are also 26 grandchildren.

Services were held Thursday afternoon at one o'clock at the Holland Home in Sheldon and at 2 from the First Ref. church in Hospers. Internment was in Hospers cemetery. Mr. Hoffs lived in and around Hospers most of his life
