Alvira Katt Alvira Katt, 92, of Rock Rapids died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at Luverne (Minn.) Community Hospice Cottage. Services were Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Rapids, with interment in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hull. Alvira Klein was born June 28, 1907, near Doon, the daughter of William and Catherine (Finck) Klein. She grew up south of Rock Rapids, attended country school and continued her education at Wilson High School in Rock Rapids, graduating in 1924. On Oct. 17, 1925, she married Walter Katt in Rock Rapids They farmed near Inwood 28 years. In 1953, they moved to a farm near Rock Rapids Her husband died Nov. 18, 1977. In 1978, she moved into Rock Rapids She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church's Ladies Aid and Circle groups and was a Sunday School teacher. She was also involved as a 4H leader, and in Golden Age Club, Dinner Date and Navy Mothers Survivors include four sons, Don of Humboldt, Dale and Kim, both of Rock Rapids, and Jim of San Jose, Calif, six daughters, Dorothy Ter Wee of Canton, S.D., Jean Kock of Inwood, Elaine Osvog of Lake Preston, S D , Mary Van Roekel of Alvord, Karen Wiggins of Greeley, Colo, and Kathleen Dieren of Rock Rapids, 29 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, one brother, Larry of LaMirada, Calif, and one sister, Helen Mangold of Ashland, Neb. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two infant daughters, two grandchildren, one sister, Kathryn Klein, and four brothers, Elmer, Wilbur, Howard and Glen.
