HOFMEYER,—At the residence of its patents in Floyd township, on Tuesday, May 23, 1882, of small-pox, a little child of G. J. Hofmeyer.

Note – in the 1880 census of Holland township Sioux county Gerrit J. Hofmeyer age 36, wife Gerdina 34, children Bertha 7, Hendrika 5, Gerdina 3 and Johanna 1. All of these children lived longer. The child possibly was born after 1880.
