At the residence of her parents in Boyden, on Friday, May 26, 1882, of small-pox, Gertie (Cornelia), only child of Mr. and Mrs. Al. Smeenk.

Note: In a family report on ancestry.com (done by others) it states a daughter of Albert Smeenk and Gertruida Hospers named Cornelia born August 8, 1879 died May 25, 1882 at Boyden.
