Mr. Norman Tiedemann, age 83, of Hull, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

There will be a memorial service on Friday, June 15, at 11:30am, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Hull. The Rev. Aaron Deutsch will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service on Friday, at 10:30am, at the church.

Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the church.

Arrangements are with the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Norman Harold Henry was born on January 5, 1935, at Hull, the son of Alfred Edward and Katharina (Breuer) Tiedemann. He was baptized on January 19, 1935, at his parents’ home. He was raised at Hull, where he attended the Sheridan Township No. 3 country school and the Hull High School. He was confirmed on April 2, 1950; his confirmation verse was Philippians 1:2.

On February 18, 1960, he married Albertha Spykerboer. They farmed at Hull.

In the 1980’s, Mr. Tiedemann was a dealer for Farmer's Hybrid Boar Power. On June 12, 1987, he married Betty J. Cheshier in Pipestone, Minnesota. They continued to farm at Hull.

Norm was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he served on the cemetery board of directors.

He was an avid polka dancer and attended several polka fests.

Survivors include his wife of one day short of 31 years; four children, Nancy, and her husband, Kevin Jansen, of Orange City; Beth, and her husband, Russ Zomer, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Richard Tiedemann, of Hull; and Lois, and her husband, Didier Koffi, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; eleven grandchildren, Nathan Jansen, and his wife, Kayse; Aaron Jansen, and his wife, Kelsey; Daniel Jansen, and his fiance’, Chandler; Levi Jansen; Josiah Jansen; Dustin Zomer; Cassandra, and her husband, Taylor Smith; Alexandra Tiedemann; David Koffi; Henry Koffi; and Desiree Koffi; three great-grandchildren, Nayleen and Isabelle Jansen and Colby Smith; two brothers, Arnold Tiedemann, of Hull; and Wilmer Tiedemann, and his wife, Debbie, of May City; a sister and her husband, Luella and Dennis Heilman, of Hartley; a sister-in-law and her husband, Mary Ellen and Loren Reyelts, of Hull; and two step-children, Cathryn, and her husband, Keith Bjorklund, of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota; and John Cheshier, of San Diego, California.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, an infant and Alvin Tiedemann; and two sisters-in-law, Gayla Tiedemann and Donna Tiedemann.
