Allen C. Godby, who has been ailing the past nine months, but apparently growing better for several weeks, had a relapse and passed away suddenly last Friday morning. They had just moved from the farm March first and were getting settled in their new home in the southeast part of town. Mr. Godby was on the street the day before and when he went to bed that evening seemed to feel better than usual. He is survived by one son, his wife and step-son. He was about forty years of age and was always strong and healthy until last summer. The funeral took place from the German Lutheran church Monday afternoon and was in charge of his pastor Rev. Schmidt. The funeral was largely attended and several beautiful floral offerings were sent in by friends.
