It is with a feeling of sadness we chronicle the untimely death of one of the leading young businessmen of Ireton, Theodore Shaver, who passed away at the hospital in Sioux City last Monday morning. He had been suffering with an ulcer of the stomach, and submitted to an operation for its removal, with the hope of regaining health. He had been ailing for several months but attended to his business until the twenty-third of March when he went to the hospital He is survived by a wife, a son about two years old and his aged mother who has been making her home here for several months. The body was brought to Ireton on the evening train Monday and the funeral held Wednesday afternoon, from the United Presbyterian church, of which he was a member. Rev. Dr. Jackson, his pastor, had charge of the services. Mr. Shaver has been engaged in the hardware business in Ireton for several years and was a good businessman, held in the highest possible esteem by all and everywhere respected for his Christian conduct and character. The funeral was attended by a very large number of people.
