Word has been received here that Mrs. Eberly, formerly Miss Anna Weidenfeller, who left her home in Merrill some time ago to go to Texas for her health, is very ill and not expected to live. Mrs. Eberly is a daughter of Tony Weidenfeller, a former resident of Alton.

Mrs. Maynard Eberly (nee Miss Anna Weidenfeller), a former resident of Alton passed away Monday at her home in Merrill, after a good many years of suffering, at the age of 29 years. The funeral was held Wednesday from St. Mary's church here, the body having been brought to Alton, and interment took place in St. Mary's cemetery. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Weidenfeller who for many years made their home here. Mr. Weidenfeller being at one time proprietor of the Dubuque House. Deceased was born in Alton and was remembered by many old time friends who attended the funeral Wednesday. For some time Mr. and Mrs. Eberly had been ....in the south for the sake of her health ,but on account of the.....decrease in strength of.. advisable to come home which they did. The...of Mrs. Eberly took place... She is survived by.... father and mother.....a sister, Elv.... [the words are obscured by tape in the newspaper copy]
