John, Peter born 11 Jan 1856 died Nov 25, 1933 Lynn tsp Sioux County IA, buried in St. Anthony’s cemetery Hospers IA

The 1925 census of Hospers IA lists his parents as John John and Margret Horbach. Peter was 68 years old and living with brothers’ family John Riedmiller. Peter was born in Germany about 1857 he was married however no wife was mentioned.

Note: In an ancestry.com report (by others) his wife was listed as Ephelia Eva Fitzler married in 1889, they had two children - William P. born May 1898 IA and a daughter Mary born 1904 Iowa. Eva born Oct 1870 was the daughter of Wimer and Hellen Fitzler.

Mr. Peter John died on Saturday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Heitsman. Funeral services were held on Monday morning in the St. Anthony’s church Rev. Thoenissen officiating.

We are sorry to state that again the hood of death has come to one of our old residents Mr. Peter John who for years had made his home with the Joe Heitzman family.

Boyden Reporter Sept 8, 1921 lists the separation and divorce of Peter John from Eva John. Eva John was alive in 1935 to receive 30 % of his estate as his spouse. Further info on Eva was not found.
