Death came to one of our well known and greatly respected families and took therefrom a loving wife and mother Tuesday June 26, in the person of Mrs. J. W. Klein after an illness of about one week with pneumonia. Deceased is survived by four children, the oldest being 9 years old and the youngest 7 months, besides the sorrowing husband, and was but 40 years old at the time of her death. About a week ago Mrs. Klein’s father, K. Weeringa, died and deceased was not able to attend the funeral which was held a week ago on account of being ill, but her illness was not thought to be serious then. She has been a resident of Hospers and vicinity from the time of her birth and lived with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. K. Weeringa on the farm northwest of town until the time of her marriage to J. (John) W. Klein about 12 years ago. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family of loved ones. A half brother, Sam Brink of this place also survives her.

The children who will miss a tender mother’s care are: Susanna, Henrietta, Willie and Clarence. Funeral services were held Friday from the home at 1:30 p.m. and from the Frist Reformed church at 1 o’clock. Rev. Geo. Douwstra had charge of the services. Interment was made in Hospers cemetery.

The relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klein, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Klein of alton; Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Klein of Inwwod; Mr and Mrs. Wm. Jeskoot of Melvin; Mr. and Mrs. J. Brink, Mrs. And Mrs. John Peelen of Maurice, and Mrs. and Mrs. T. Dykerma of Bigelow MN. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their time of sorrow.
