Henry Moos, 86, of Granville died Saturday in Happy Siesta Retirement Home in Remsen after a long illness.

Services were at 10 A.M. Tuesday in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Granville. The Reverend Francis J. Nemmers officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.

Mr. Moos was born July 7, 1899 at Granville where he was raised and educated. He married Lucille McSpadden Trowl on May 2, 1932 in Sioux City. He operated the Moon Salvage Yard at Granville until retiring in 1966. He lived at the retirement home in Remsen since February 20, 1984.

Mr. Moos was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Granville and was a past Granville city council and fire chief.

Survivors include his wife of Remsen; three sons, Marvin of Granville, Daniel of Sioux City and Michael of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lynn) McLarty of Moville; one stepson, Kenneth Moos of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Nick of Des Moines; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter (Margaret Schaak) Moos, two brothers and four sisters
