Karl J. Hamann Karl J. Hamann, 81, of Denver, CO, formerly of Rock Valley, died Wednesday, April 8, 1998, at the Rose Medical Center in Denver. Services were Saturday at Pioneer United Methodist Church in Rock Valley, with the Dr. Robert Nielsen officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hamann was born Nov. 22, 1916, in Rock Valley, the son of Willhelm and Ida (Lahn) Hamann. He served in the U.S. Army-Air Force during World War II. He married Frances DeJonge on July 6, 1944, in Pueblo, CO. After the war, the couple lived in Rock Valley, where he was employed with Iowa Public Service as a gas-electric serviceman for30years. They moved to Denver in April, 1990s to be closer to their son Dennis.

Survivors include his wife, Frances of Denver, two sons, Dennis of Denver and Kimm "KJ" and his wife Karin of Flossmore, IL; two sisters, Elsie Moore of Rock Valley and Minnie Junge of Sioux City; and two grandchildren, Dane Karl and Kristin Nicole.
