Jelgerhuis, Sybrand (Siebrand) born 4 Aug 1859 (1958) Netherlands died 2 July 1934 Orange City IA, buried in West Lawn cemetery (WPA) record. He died a single man, in 1885 he came to the USA.

S. Jelgerhuis A Carpet Weaver In His Youth
Funeral services for Sybrand Jelgerhuis were held on Wednesday July 4, at 1:30 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Brink and at 2 O’clock at the First Christian Reformed church with Dr. Bronkema and Rev. G W. Hylkema officiating.

Mr. Jelgerhuis died July 2 at a local hospital where he had been receiving treatment for 17 months. He was born in the Netherlands on aug 2, 1859. Mr. Jelgerhuis was a carpet weaver by trade. Until her death several years ago he lived with and cared for his aged stepmother, Mrs. Alice Jelgerhus.

He is survived by two brothers and three sisters, namely John of Chandler MN, Nick of Carthage SD, Mrs. Tillie Fitzgerald of Alvord IA, Mrs. Hattie Brink of Orange City and rms. Marie Van Steenwyk of Sioux Center.
