A native of Alton, Miss Esther Minten, who was born here in 1881, died last week at her home in St. Paul Minnesota. Funeral Mass was in a St. Paul Church Saturday and graveside services were held in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Alton at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon.

Both of Miss Minten’s parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Elizabeth (Brill) Minten are buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery here as well as a sister, Mayme, who died in 1960. Henry Minten was a respected Alton Hardware dealer in the early days and died here 78 years ago. After his death the family moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, where their home has been since that time. They lived at 892 Hague Avenue.

Miss Minten is survived by two sisters, at home, the Misses Clara and Juliana Minten.
