Rites were held for Joseph Leo Minten Tuesday, March 19, in St. Mary’s Church, Alton. Mr. Minten died March 15 in Orange City Hospital after an illness of about a year. He was 23 years old.

Joe was in the armed forces until he became ill in May, 1967

Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester and Rose (Pottebaum) Minten; six sisters: Mrs. James McClure, Hornick; Mrs. G. W. O’Gara, Jackson, Nebraska; Mrs. Vernon Staab and Mrs. Lyle Heidesch, both of Remsen; Mrs. Wilbur Van De Mark, Rockford, Illinois; Mrs. James Schemmel, Abilene, Texas; four brothers: Paul, Remsen; Marvin, Denver; Lloyd, Alton; and Harold, Metairie, Louisiana.
