David Millikan, 29, of Hawarden was killed Friday evening, October 27, in a car-Presbyterian accident on county road K-30 in Ireton.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s office, Millikan was walking along the highway in front of the Ireton Co-op Elevator when he was struck by a car driven by Charlotte Lockhorst, 25, of Ireton. The accident took place at 8:50 P.M. according to the sheriff’s office.

Services for Millikan were at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, October 31, in the American Lutheran Church. The Reverend Robert Hansen officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery with the Dow Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Millikan was born November 24, 1948 at Hawarden. He was graduated from Hawarden High School. He married Connie Waterman May 27, 1967, at Hawarden. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie and Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Michelle and three sons, Johnny, Jeremy and Jeffrey, all at home; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Beryl (Harkness) Millikan of Hawarden; a brother, Ted of Hawarden; the grandfather, Lloyd Millikan of Hamilton, Missouri; and the grandmother, Mrs. Lloyd Millikan of Hamilton, Missouri.
