Rites Saturday For Miss Sylvia Minten.

Funeral services for Miss Sylvia Minten at St Mary's chapel Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. Miss Minten passed away April 27 at the age of 53 years at a nursing home in Sioux City. She had been an invalid since suffering a stroke two years ago.

Sylvia was born to Mathias and Magdelena (Gehlen) Minten, March 31, 1896 and spent her life in Alton. She is survived by three brothers, Sylvester, Bernard and Peter all of Alton, three sisters, Mrs. Ted Versteeg of Alton and Mrs. Rose Mousel and Mrs. Olga Konz both of Sioux City. One sister, Mrs. William Pottenbaum, preceded her in death.

The body arrived Friday afternoon from the Christy Funeral Home at Sioux City. Pall bearers were her nephews, Melvin Pottebaum, Louise Pottebaum, Hillary Konz, Jr., LeRoy Mousel, Paul Minten and Donald Minten.

Miss Esther Minten of St. Paul was present at the funeral services of her niece. Alton friends extend sympathy to the family. Miss Sylvia was loved by all who knew her and in spite of handicaps she did much good during her lifetime. "
