Mrs. Melvin F. Miller, mother of Mrs. C. L. Beach of Hull, and a resident of Hull for many years, died at her home in Sheldon last week Thursday and was buried Sunday.

She is survived by her husband, Mr. Melvin F. Miller, Mayor of Sheldon, one daughter, Mrs. C. L. Beach of Hull, and two sons, Robert of Sioux Falls and Earl of California.

Old time Hull friends all join in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

Mrs. Melvin F. Miller, nee Ida Clark, was born June 16, 1855 in Indiana and died December 8, 1932 at her home in Sheldon. She was the youngest of thirteen children and the last to survive. She was sick with pneumonia about a week.

While a young girl she moved with her parents in a covered wagon, across the prairies to Polk County and spent her girlhood on a farm.

She was married to Melvin F. Miller on August 13, 1877. There were three children born in a log house on the Polk County farm, all of whom are living. Earl B. of Southgate, California, Robert B. of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Mrs. C. L. Beach of this place. Mr. and Mrs. Miller moved with their children to Burt, Iowa and Algona, Iowa, and from there to Hull in about 1891. They moved to Sheldon in 1920 where they have since lived.

Mr. and Mrs. Miller celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1927, on a farm near Ames, where 175 relatives held a reunion.

Mrs. Miller belonged to the Congregational Church and the Eastern Star.

The funeral services were held in the Congregational Church at Sheldon on Sunday afternoon, and burial was made in the East Lawn Cemetery. Reverend Booth conducted the services.
