Herbert E. McKenney, 92, of Rock Valley, died Thursday, October 21, at Hegg Memorial Hospital following a six month illness.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 25, 1:30 P.M. in the Porter Funeral Home with the Reverend Sam Ervin of the Bethel Methodist Church of Inwood, officiating. Soloist, Gerald McKenney was accompanied by Mrs. Pier Wynia, organist.

Pallbearers were Dick Rozeboom, Paul Kaskle, Matt Baatz, Fritz Kock, Elmer Kooima and Harold Groth. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.

Herbert McKenney was born on November 14, 1879 at Harris Grove, Iowa. He married Clara Hazlett in 1902. She preceded him in death in 1956. He was a life long resident of the Rock Valley area.

Survivors are two sons, Verne of Inwood and Emmet of Newcastle, Nebraska, one sister, Mrs. Fred Hinton of Craig, Nebraska and 18 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne in 1966.
