Mrs. Cloy McKeegan of Rock Valley, a long time resident of Lyon County, died Tuesday, March 14 at a Rock Valley Hospital after a brief illness.

Services were held in St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, March 17 with Father Zeman officiating.

Mrs. McKeegan, the former Rilla Levens, was born at Alvord on April 7, 1895. Her parents were Thomas and Mary (Cochran) Levens. She taught school in rural Lyon County for several years. She was married to Cloy McKeegan on May 22, 1922. The couple farmed in Lyon County for many years before retiring to Rock Valley in 1962. Mr. McKeegan died in 1965.

Mrs. McKeegan was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, St. Mary’s Catholic Guild, American Legion Auxiliary, Hegg Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Federated Women’s Club.

Survivors include a son, James of Elmhurst, Illinois; a daughter (Margaret), Mrs. C. K. Whitchair of East Lansing, Michigan; a brother, Lawrence of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, three sisters, Miss Olive Levens, also of Philadelphia, Miss Theresa Levens of Dubuque and Mrs. William Rielly of Rock Valley and eight grandchildren.
