Death of James McDonald Passes Away Very Suddenly Sunday From Heart Failure

James McDonald passed away very suddenly at his home in this city shortly after eight o'clock Sunday morning from heart failure. He had been ailing for several months, but was thought to be improving and had been able to be about for the past few weeks. His sudden death came as a shock to his family and many old friends.

The deceased was born at Byron, Illinois, February 15, 1862, and resided in that part of the state until he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Miss May Schoonmaker of Winnebago, Illinois, February 12, 1884. They came to Sioux county the same year and settled on a farm four miles southwest of Ireton where they have continued to make their home until two years ago when they moved to this city.

Besides his wife he leaves a family of nine children, seven girls and two boys, to mourn his death. The children are Mrs. Ray Dale of McNally, Mrs. Garfield White of Ireton, Mrs. Robert White, Rose, William, Lottie, Elmer, Lillie, and Flossy of this city. He also leaves two grandchildren and a brother in Idaho and a sister in Illinois.

Funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Reverend C. H. Young, pastor of the M. E. Church, preaching the funeral sermon. A large number of old friends and neighbors from Ireton and vicinity came to attend the funeral.
