MRS. JAMES MC ELROY DIES

Last Monday evening at seven o’clock, Cora (Aurit) McElroy, the wife of Mr. James McElroy, night marshal was called to her eternal rest. Mrs. McElroy had suffered for years from dropsy and but lately took to her bed. Mrs. McElroy was a pioneer resident of Rock Valley, being born near here on June 11, 1883 and living here ever since. She was united in marriage to James McElroy 22 years ago.

She leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband, two brothers, Jerry of Rock Valley and Henry of Mankato, Minnesota; three sisters, Mrs. John Stengel of Canton, South Dakota, Mrs. A. N. Warren of Spencer, Iowa and Mrs. John Schemmer of California. There was one child, but it died in infancy.

Requiem High Mass was celebrated by Reverend Father Foerster at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Wednesday morning. Burial was made at St. Mary’s Cemetery. She was a devoted Catholic and a kind and obedient wife.
