Gwendolyn LaVon Gant, 91 died Wed. Oct. 18, 2017 in Manteca, CA.
Gwen Wood was born on Nov. 27 1925 in Sioux City to Ellis and LaVon Wood of Hawarden. She graduated from Central High School in Hawarden in 1944. She attended college and went on to work at the Veterans Administration in Washington D.C. Gwen married Dick Gant, also of Hawarden, on Aug. 26, 1947. The family moved to Danville, CA. in 1969. A devoted wife and mother, she was full of life and her sense of style and humor will be missed.

Gwen is survived by four sons, Craig (Eva) Gant of New Braunfel TX. Woody Gant of Manteca, Tracy (Susie) Gant of Roseville, CA. and Shawn Gant of Antioch, CA.; seven grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

She was proceeded in death by her husband; three brothers, Jerry (Myrtle) Wood, George (Donnie) Wood and Warren Wood; a sister, Margaret (Dean) Lichty; a niece and a nephew.
