Jesse S. McKee, 70, of Hawarden was dead on arrival at the Hawarden Hospital on Sunday, September 7.

Services were at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, September 10, in the Dow Funeral Home. The Reverend Paul Hansen officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

McKee was born March 18, 1916, in Chuckey, Tennessee and moved to the Hawarden area in 1933. He married Beulah Marshall December 22, 1938, in Canton, South Dakota. He worked in the construction business.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Gerald of Killeen, Texas, Larry of Hawarden, Melvin of Grand Prairie, Texas, David of Moline, Illinois and Steven of Huntsville, Alabama; two daughters, Mildred Schwartz of Le Mars and Vicki Smith of Tucson, Arizona; his step-mother, Palma McKee of Hawarden; a brother. Erskin McKee of Camp Verde, Arizona; two sisters, Bea Mounger of Sieverville, Tennessee and Ruth Crawford of Knoxville, Tennessee; six half-brothers, Tom, Dale, and Roscoe Collins, all of Tennessee, Gene Collins of Chicago, Clyde McKee of Akron and Paul McKee of Hawarden; three half sisters, Mary Ellen Davis of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mae Lewison of Akron and Carol Ortiz of San Jose, California; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
