MCCORMICK RITES HELD SATURDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Georgiana McCormick, 90, one of Hawarden’s older residents, who died at the Panska Nursing Home Thursday, were held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the Barnard Funeral Home. Reverend Paul Williams officiating. Burial was at Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. McCormick was born August 25, 1868, in Lincoln County, Nebraska. On January 18, 1888 she married John McCormick at Alcester, South Dakota.

For many years they farmed in this vicinity. They spent about a year and a half in California and a year and a half in Washington. Upon their return they resided in Hawarden.

She was preceded in death by Mr. McCormick who died in 1946.

Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. May Dittmer of Hawarden, Mrs. Dena Walker of New York City, Mrs. Sylvia DeRaad of Minneapolis, Mrs. Myrtle Akin of Missouri and Mrs. Goldie Fisher of Rapid City, South Dakota; three sons, John of Chicago and Joe and Jay of Los Angeles, and 56 grandchildren.
