The people of Ireton were greatly shocked lst week to learn of the sudden death of Dr. C. R. McCrory which occurred last Friday in Chicago while he was undergoing a surgical operation. No word that he contemplated undergoing an operation had reached Ireton and the news of his sudden death thus came as all the more of a shock. The remains were brought to Ireton, Monday by his brother, Samuel H. McCrory of Washington, D. C.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the M. E. Church, conducted by Reverend J. A. Kettle, and interment was made in the Ireton Cemetery. The services at the grave were in charge of the Masonic Lodge, while members of the American Legion acted as an escort. All the members of the family except his sister in Japan were present at the funeral. Other out of town relatives who were here for the funeral were his uncles, T. J.
