GERALD G. THORMAN
Gerald George Thorman, the son of Max and Florence (Merley) Thorman was born November 14, 1930 in Granville, Iowa. He received his education in Sheldon. He was called into the Army on January 22, 1952 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Gerald served 341st Engineers as a Cpl in Korea until his discharge December 10, 1953. He returned to Sheldon and on February 6, 1955, he was united in marriage to Lois Marie Paulson at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. After their marriage the couple farmed south of Sheldon for many years. Lois preceded him in death on November 29, 2006 in Sheldon. Gerald remained on the family farm until moving into Sheldon. He became a resident of Fieldcrest Assisted Living and later transferred to Sanford Senior Care in January of 2016. He passed away at Senior Care on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 reaching the age of 87 years, 4 months and 19 days.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren which he went to many of their activities. He enjoyed bowling and square dancing with Lois.
Gerald leaves to cherish his memory a daughter and son- in-law, Lisa and Dan Drenkow of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; three grandchildren, Dr. Jared Drenkow and his wife, Dr. Maria Skorey of Omaha, Nebraska; Shea Drenkow and his fiancée, Lizz Nelson of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Leanna Drenkow of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and one great grandchild on the way in June; a brother-in-law, Don Paulson of Sheldon, Iowa also other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and a sister, Shirley Stueben.

Memorial may be directed to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Roof Repair fund in Sheldon, Iowa.
