Knook, Francina born 23 Jun 1839 died 26 Feb 1921 husband Leendert, buried in West Lawn cemetery at Orange City IA.

MRS. L. KNOOK HEENGEGAAN. (submitter can’t vouch for accuracy of translation.)

Translation:
Message was received here of the death of Mrs. L. Knook, at the house of her daughter Mrs. Rev. Wm. Stuart at Grand Rapids MI. She was born in Klundert Neth. Where she also was married. In 1867 she came to America with her husband and first settled in Pella. In 1870 the couple moved to Sioux County and settled on a farm west of the city, and later on the farm right to the south of the depot. After they left farm life they went to the city and lived for about 7 years in the house now inhabited by K. Noordhoff. Because of old age they had to leave their house and withdraw to their only child Mrs. Stuart in Chicago. They had a child that died at a young age. April 13, 1914 her husband was taken by death and now 26 Feb 1921 the widow was also summoned. She leaves a daughter and son in law Ds. and Mrs. Stuart and 3 grandchildren in addition to other relatives and friends. She had reached the age of 81 years and 7 months. The remains were transported here and ordered to the earth next to her husband after the service conducted first Ref. church by Rev. Englesman.
