Alvina Heyl, age 84, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. Rev. Craig Nissen officiating.

Burial to follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Sheldon.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon.

Alvina Roberta Heyl was born on May 18, 1933 in LeMars, Iowa. She was the daughter of Robert and Meta (Kleihaurer) Ruble. She lived her youth in LeMars where she attended school and graduated from LeMars High School. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
She was united in marriage to Milton Heyl of Akron, Iowa on September 21, 1951. They lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado while Milton served in the U. S. Army. They moved back to LeMars where Alvina worked at Wells Dairy for 3 years. After living in LeMars for 12 years, they moved to Boyden, Iowa. They lived in Boyden for 10 years and then moved to Sheldon, Iowa. Alvina worked at the Sheldon Mail Newspaper as a proof reader, for 14 years. She also was a bus driver for Sheldon Community School.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon.
Alvina and Milton enjoyed playing cards together, camping with the family in Yankton, South Dakota and spending 15 winters in Texas. Alvina also enjoyed potlucks, bowling, and playing the accordion.
In January, Alvina moved to Fieldcrest in Sheldon.
She passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 66 years, Milton Heyl of Sheldon, IA; her children, Marcia (John) Baker of Hornick, IA, Madelynn (Mike) Hoven of Matlock, IA, Jane (Rick) Kroon of Yankton, SD, Greg (LaRae) Heyl of Anamosa, IA; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Schmidt of LeMars, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harlan Ruble.
