Alison James Lenters was born October 11, 1954 in Woodstock, MN, the son of Rev. Harold and Sena (Meekhof) Lenters. He graduated from West Sioux High School in Hawarden, IA in 1973. All his life Al worked with his hands. He loved music, target shooting, riding his motorcycles and woodworking.

On December 28, 1985 he was united in marriage to Marlys Van Ravenswaay at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Al’s father, Rev. Harold Lenters performed the service. The couple made their home in Maurice, IA. He spent his working life as a carpenter/general contractor. In May of 2002 Al was involved in a disabling motorcycle accident. Since that time, he has spent countless hours creating beautiful works of art in both stained glass and wood. He was a very talented and loving man. Another pure joy of his was tooling around town in his wheelchair and talking with whomever was out and about. He loved tending to his flowers and birdfeeders on his back deck. He loved his family most of all, especially his wonderful wife, daughter and family. His morning devotional time in his shop sustained him greatly throughout his life. This past Thursday, Alison left his earthly home to be with his Heavenly Father at the age of 63. He will be greatly missed.
